Dr. Rafael Rosell among the best oncologists in Spain according to Forbes magazine
Barcelona, December 14, 2017 - Dr. Rafael Rosell has been named as one of the top five oncologists in Spain, according to prestigious business magazine Forbes. His tireless investigations in the field of medical oncology has made him one of the most prominent members of the international scientific community, and a winner of numerous awards in recognition of his contributions to translational lung cancer research and the advancement of personalized medicine. In 2013, The Lancet profiled him as one of the leading figures in lung cancer in Europe.
Dr. Rosell’s contributions to the field of oncology have served him well to lead the Dr. Rosell Oncology Institute - clinical care division of Pangaea Oncology - at the Dexeus, General de Catalunya, Sagrat Cor university hospitals, and the Teknon Medical Center. These hospitals all form part of the Quirónsalud Group and were recently listed among the top private hospitals, or with best service provision, in Spain according to the Monitor de Reputación Sanitaria (Healthcare Reputation Monitor) 2017.
Dr. Rosell is also Director of the Cancer Biology and Precision Medicine Program at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) and a founding member of important lung cancer collaborative groups, such as the Spanish Lung Cancer Group (GECP) and the European Thoracic Oncology Platform (ETOP).
